The Board of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries confirmed that the founder of the ministry was truly involved in sexual misconduct allegations.
The allegations were made against apologist Ravi Zacharias before he died but his ministry denied it and offered to investigate the matter.
RZIM hired a law firm, Miller & Martin PLLC to conduct an independent investigation after allegations of sexual misconduct were made against Zacharias in August 2020.
The law firm confirmed to the RZIM board via an interim report that allegations made against the late apologist were true.
The team set up by the law firm interviewed tens of witnesses including massage therapists who treated Zacharias for back pain at Touch of Eden and Jivan Wellness spas, that Zacharias himself co-owned.
Three women among the therapists had allege in September that Zacharias harassed them sexually. The trio said he would touch them inappropriately, expose himself and masturbate during treatment sessions between 2005-2010.
The women reportedly disclosed the sexual misconduct allegations to a lawyer from San Francisco – Stephen Buaghman.
From the reviewed numerous documents and electronic devices used by the man of God over the years, it was confirmed that
“Combining those interviews with our review of documents and electronic data, we have found significant, credible evidence that Mr. Zacharias engaged in sexual misconduct over the course of many years.
The RZIM Board stated that a final report of the Miller & Martin team will be publicly released after the investigation is completed in January or February.
The board of the ministry regrettably admitted that the misconducts are inconsistent with the man Ravi Zacharias presented both publicly and privately for more than forty years of active ministry.
The ministry board said it is troubled and devastated for those who have suffered from Ravi’s misconduct.
“In the meantime, we share your compassion for any victims of this conduct, and we appreciate your prayers for them and also for Ravi’s family who have been devastated by this information. As ever, the Lord remains our principal hope for healing and restoration”, RZIM concluded.
Zacharias was a resourceful apologist and author went to be with the Lord in May 2020 after battling cancer. He left the earth at the age of 74.
