It is true that Grace Alone Was Not Sufficient to Save You?

Our salvation costs God more than Grace only. His Justice led to His mercy, which was crowned by His Grace.

God’s mercy and Grace are shown through His justice. He didn’t set aside justice to make room for mercy.   Sin and injustice were punished on the Cross.  When the penalty of sin was satisfied through Christ’s sacrifice, then God extends His mercy to undeserving sinners who look to Him for salvation and crowns it with Grace.

Romans 3:25-26 says: “God gave Jesus as a way to forgive people’s sins through their faith in him. God can forgive them because the blood sacrifice of Jesus pays for their sins (to affirm His Justice). God gave Jesus to show that he always does what is right and fair (JUSTICE). He was right in the past when he was patient and did not punish people for their sins. And in our own time, he still does what is right. God worked all this out in a way that allows him to judge people fairly (JUSTICE) and still make right any person who has faith in Jesus”.

Worship of Jesus like never before: take a listen

1Peter 1:3 – Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,-

Romans 11:30-32 – Once you were rebels against God, but when the Jews refused his gifts God was merciful to you instead. 31 And now the Jews are the rebels, but some day they, too, will share in God’s mercy upon you. 32 For God has given them all up to sin[b] so that he could have mercy upon all alike.

Titus 3:5 – he saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

Eph 2:4-9 combines Mercy and Grace well for our salvation: “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast”.

Romans 3:23 says “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”.

Through the work of sin within us, we have earned, and we deserve physical and spiritual death and for justice to be served, somebody must pay. Jesus paid the price and through him, we also received undeserved kindness, which is grace.

Why must somebody pay? God cannot violate his words and laws.

Justice led to the death of Jesus. Through mercy, we escape the punishment of hell and through grace, we received the gift of eternal life.

Psalms 89:14 sums it up: “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face”.
