Pharrell Williams Turns a Preacher; back to Church roots in new Netflix choir series

“Ye Must be Born Again” is unscripted on the hoodie Pharrel Williams wears as he hits preaching ‘a return of the Christian choir to a new dimension’ in a Netflix musical docuseries.

Christian lingo reigns in the series as Williams chats up other cast and artists.

Reports say Netlix partners has partnered with Williams to produce the unscripted project titled – “Voices of Fire“, which starts on November 20.

In the Christian reality music show, Williams and gospel leaders scout for undiscovered talent in Williams’ hometown of Hampton Roads, Virginia in the United States of America (USA).

Choir director, Patrick Riddick and Williams’ uncle, Bishop Ezekiel Williams are part of the protagonists of the reality series. Ezekiel Williams is the general overseer, pastor and founder of Faith World Ministries.

The streaming service giant asked Williams to lead a docuseries that focuses building “one of the world’s most inspiring gospel choirs”.

Mr Riddick confirmed that him and Williams grew up together in the Pentecostal Holiness Church where William’s grandma was their church mother.

Riddick is happy as Williams return to God and that he is keen to share his re-dedication to God on a big platform like Netflix.
